ProtectMyBlock wasn’t born from a business idea—it was born from a personal need. As a father living in a wonderful community full of families and children, I was struck by the unsettling reality that, on rare occasions, homes in our neighborhood experienced break-ins. These weren’t just opportunistic daytime thefts targeting cars; they happened at night, when children were asleep in their beds.
Much like everyone in our community, the thought of our kids waking up to find someone in our home was unbearable. Like many, I considered hiring private security, but the cost was prohibitive. That’s when I realized I wasn’t alone—through a community chat of about 200 homes across four nearby streets, it became clear that we all shared the same concern: we wanted an affordable way to ensure our homes were patrolled during the critical hours of the night, from 10 PM to 6 AM, while our children were safely asleep.
A SIMPLE IDEA BACKED BY TECHNOLOGY
The solution became clear: what if we pooled our resources as a community? By joining forces, we could collectively afford nightly patrols for our homes. But this raised a new set of questions:

How could homeowners verify their house was patrolled and know when to expect the next visit?

What if someone wanted reassurance their home was safe while they were out for the evening?
Drawing inspiration from rideshare apps, ProtectMyBlock was built on a premise of a real-time solution. With ProtectMyBlock’s app, patrol officers begin each shift with a detailed map of paying customers' homes. They can "check in" at each house during their patrol, and customers can track these visits in real-time through the app. This transparency not only builds trust but also provides peace of mind—whether you're asleep at home or out to dinner

ProtectMyBlock is more than a patrol service; it’s a platform built to enhance neighborhood security through community collaboration. While patrolling is just the beginning, the app will evolve to include additional features like camera integration, community chats, and more.
Our vision is clear: make home security affordable and effective, deterring threats and giving families peace of mind.
BLESSED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT
When this shared with Chief of Police in our town, it was clear that without his support and blessing - this woudl have not happened. This had to be a win for the town. His response was encouraging—he saw ProtectMyBlock as a complement to the local safety efforts of the town, an extra set of eyes to help deter crime and notify law enforcement when needed.
ProtectMyBlock doesn’t intervene in suspicious activity; we’re not a replacement for law enforcement. Instead, we act as an affordable deterrent, a presence that helps keep the “bad guys” away while giving families a greater sense of security.
